An island paradise known for its volcanoes, its warm welcomes, and its zest for life? Throw in some great golf, incredible hiking, biking, sailing and water sports – and it’s time to say Aloha to Hawaii.
An Island Paradise
But which island should you choose? Kauai to get married in the Fern Grotto immortalised by Elvis in Blue Hawaii? Or, to visit Pearl Harbour and the American Memorial, you’ll need to head to Oahu. Oahu is also home to Hawaii’s biggest city, Honolulu, and best-known resort, Waikiki Beach – so you won’t be short of great hotels, resorts, shopping and entertainment. Head out of the main tourist areas to discover some truly beautiful beaches – Hanauma Bay and Lanikai Beach are both perfect tropical beaches of white sand bordered by palm trees on one side and clear, turquoise waters on the other.
Hanuama Bay is a popular snorkelling and diving spot, but there is great diving and surfing to be had on all the islands – as well as whale watching in the first few months of the year. In addition to all the water sports and picture-perfect beaches, Hawaii’s national parks are home to many beautiful waterfalls and dramatic volcanic scenery. Do explore up the winding roads that crawl high into Maui’s volcanic peaks, which include the Haleakala, a 10,023-foot-tall dormant volcano. Or, on Big Island, follow the twisting 11-mile Crater Rim Drive at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park through tropical rainforest to the desert-like crater itself.
Enjoy a Luau
Most visitors to Hawaii don’t delve further into Hawaiian culture than a hula dance and relishing the tasty local dishes, such as fresh poke, kalua pork, and huli huli chicken. But if you want to delve a little deeper, the Polynesian Cultural Centre on Oahu's North Shore is a fabulous theme-park-like introduction.
Whatever you want from your island adventure, we can create the perfect Hawaii holiday for you.
